Troopers need help identifying moped rider killed in Rowan Co.

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — North Carolina state troopers were investigating a deadly crash overnight in Rowan County.

Troopers said the accident happened on U.S. 70 eastbound near Salisbury around 10:30 p.m.

A moped traveling the wrong way on U.S. 70 crashed into a car, according to troopers. The driver of that moped died and officials are having trouble identifying him.

He is described as a Hispanic man in his 40s or 50s.

Investigators closed the road for more than two hours while they cleared the scene.
