Truck strikes tree in Anson Co., killing driver

ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Lilesville woman was killed in a car wreck Thursday in Anson County, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.

Kimberly Sue Hardison, 47, was speeding in a 2006 Ford truck on Grassy Island Road at about noon when she entered a sharp curve, troopers said.

The truck ran off the road, struck an embankment where it went airborne colliding with a tree against the vehicle's roof .

Hardison was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.

Hardison died at the scene.
