CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Someone tried to rob Tupelo Honey Café on South Boulevard at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a police report.
This isn't the first time the South End restaurant has been robbed. In January 2015, police said an armed man robbed the manager inside the restaurant's office.
There have been 130 similar crimes including burglary, car thefts, robbery and vehicle break-ins within one mile of the restaurant in the last six months, according to the police crime-mapping tool.
The robber who had a handgun fled and no arrests were made Wednesday.
There were no injuries in the robbery attempt.
Police released a surveillance photo of a man they suspect was involved in the attempted robbery.
