The owner of a nearby auto shop said the victim had been working in his garage. They said he was taking pictures of a vehicle he had just finished on Jessie Street when the crime happened.
A co-worker tried to drive him to the hospital but ended up stopping just outside of uptown. First responders took him the rest of the way.
Back on Statesville Avenue, Chopper 9 captured two people being taken into custody. Three officers and a K-9 unit were able to locate the suspects hiding in some nearby brush in a field.
Shortly afterwards, family arrived to the scene, visibly upset and said their sons were 12 and 15 years old.

Investigators have not identified the suspects or the man who was shot. Officials told Channel 9 the victim is expected to survive.
