Two water rescues made at Landsford State Park

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Two water rescues were made within a couple of hours of each other Sunday afternoon on the Catawba River at Landsford State Park in Chester County.

Just after 1:30 p.m., a boat capsized near Canal and Landsford roads. Three people were rescued and there were no injuries, officials told Channel 9.

Just before 3:30 p.m., two people were rescued when their kayak turned over in the same area.

Officials told Channel 9 the issue is that rain is causing high-water levels. They are warning visitors to not take a kayak or go into the water in those conditions.
