UNC Charlotte student recants story that she was attacked on campus

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A UNC Charlotte student who reported an alleged altercation around 3 a.m. Sunday admitted to UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety that she fabricated the story about being assaulted.

Channel 9 reported Tuesday that the student told officers she was walking in Parking Lot 25 headed toward her dorm when a man grabbed her.

No word on if the student will face charges.
