UNC Charlotte students start online petition following sexual assault report

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — UNC Charlotte students have started an online petition demanding better security six days after a sexual assault was reported on campus.

A woman told police last Wednesday that a stranger followed her into a bathroom of the Fretwell building and attacked her there.

Police at this time still have no leads.

The petition cites the following: "Few security cameras, and a startling lack of security presence on foot."
