Union Co. commissioners pass resolution supporting Kilah's Law

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County commissioners are moving ahead with their support of stricter penalties in child abuse cases.

On Monday night, they passed a resolution supporting a state law being proposed in the name of 3-year-old Kilah Davenport.

She suffered serious brain injuries after investigators say her stepfather abused her.

Similar resolutions have been passed in Mint Hill, Waxhaw and Harrisburg.
