Union County hunger walk raises enough to feed 600 families

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — More than 100 people walked to end hunger in Union County at the Common Heart Hunger Walk Sunday in Indian Trail.

The walk raises month for the group’s six food pantries in the area. On Sunday, enough money was raised to feed about 600 families.

“A lot of the folks that we serve are people that are working and they just have low income jobs and aren't able to meet their needs,” said Keith Adams, executive director at Common Heart.

Their goal is $15,000.
