Uptown buildings dark Saturday night for Earth Hour

CHARLOTTE — Millions of people across the world, including Charlotte, will turn off the lights for one hour Saturday night.

The World Wide Fund for Nature encourages people, cities, and businesses to switch off the lights at 8:30 p.m. Saturday to show support for environmental causes.

According to Charlotte Center City, participating buildings include the Bank of America Center, Duke Energy Center, Convention Center, NASCAR Plaza, Heart Tower and more.
