A video of a mother bear and her four yearlings in Banner Elk has gone viral.
The video, posted to Grandfather Mountain's Facebook page, has nearly 500,000 views and has been shared over 8,000 times.
The video was taken by Travis Platek, the son of a Grandfather Mountain volunteer coordinator, on his way home from the grocery store Sunday morning.
Black bears are found on approximately 60 percent of the total land area of North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Wildlife Commission.
