Volunteers ready to head along East Coast following Sandy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Dozens of volunteers are ready to head anywhere along the East Coast Saturday.

Red Cross volunteers spent Friday night preparing to deploy.

Emergency management is considering opening a shelter on the coast and they're trained to set it up and run it.

Local volunteers could end up there or as far away as Virginia or New York.

Duke Power trucks are also on standby, but will not move until after the storm passes.
