Wadesboro police chief puts up $5K reward in unsolved homicide

WADESBORO, N.C. — The Wadesboro Police Department is trying new tactics to solve a February homicide.

Police Chief Janie Schutz announced a $5,000 reward on Thursday to find Sheri Eveangelisti's killer.

Two investigators from the Anson County Sheriff's Department have also been brought in to help.

The chief had a warning for the alleged killer.

"Any bad guy who was involved in this crime ought to be worrying right about now," Schutz said.  "The family of Sherri Evangelisti will see justice."

Evangelisti's body was found in an abandoned house on Valentine's Day.

Her family had reported her missing a few days earlier.
