Warrant: DNA evidence links Club Lust bouncer to deadly shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A search warrant details what happened inside Club Lust on Atando Avenue in North Charlotte the night club bouncer Wade Mosley allegedly shot and killed patron Gregory Spearman last week.

According to the warrant, surveillance video shows a crowd gathered while Mosley was involved in a fight, before it suddenly scattered and Spearman was seen crawling on the floor.

A short time later, Mosley is seen returning and picking up an object off the floor, and putting it into this pocket, according to the warrant.

The warrant also states that police did not find bullet cartridges or a gun when they searched the area.

Police interviewed Mosley at the scene, but said what he told them didn’t match the surveillance video.

Officers searched Mosley’s home. According to the search warrant, they found 10 guns, as well as DNA evidence linked to the murder, including blood.

Spearman’s death marks the second deadly shooting at Club Lust in the past five years.

In September 2013, a 22-year-old was shot and killed outside the building. The club was called Cabaret 124 at the time.

The North Carolina ABC Commission has pulled Club Lust’s liquor license. The Alcohol Law Enforcement Board is still investigating the club.
