Waste equipment manufacturer to create 60 jobs in Caldwell County

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A waste equipment manufacturer is planning a new facility in Caldwell County, Gov. Bev Perdue announced Monday.

Bakers Waste Equipment Inc., which produces waste containers and compactors, plans to create 60 jobs and invest more than $2.9 million over the next three years in Lenoir.

The company currently employs more than 80 people at its facilities in Burke and Catawba counties. Those operations will be consolidated into the new facility in Caldwell County. The company said it expects to retain a majority of existing employees.

Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $29,157, plus benefits.
