CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fifth grade teacher at Ashley Park Elementary in west Charlotte has found a way to make his students smile before class.
Barry White Jr. greets each student with their own unique handshake and dance.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' Facebook post with a video of the handshakes has been viewed more than 884,000 times and shared more than 18,000 times.
“Creative, I love it when educators take pride in their students, and the students know it!” one commenter wrote.
Another commenter said her children go to the elementary school and that the teachers are “amazing.”
