Water main break cuts off water to Clover

CLOVER, S.C. — The town of Clover is without running water Wednesday morning after a water main break.

Officials said the break happened around 8:30 a.m.on Highway 321 North and caused a portion of the road to ice over. The break is affecting more than 5,000 people.

Police said the right lane of the highway was closed as crews worked to repair the line. There is no word on when the repairs will finish.

Elementary schools will dismiss at 1 p.m. because of the break, and the high school and middle school will dismiss at 2 p.m.

The main line supplies water to the entire town and Boil Water Advisory has been issued until further notice.
