MORGANTON, N.C. - The city of Morganton will cut off water service to the Goodman Lake Road area Thursday.
The city’s Water Resources workers have to repair a 6-inch water line that serves the area.
Water service will be shut off at 9 a.m. Thursday and will affect the following roads: Goodman Lake Road, Willow Tree Church Road, Roy Caldwell Street, Scenic View Lane, Cam Drive and the Lake Drive subdivision.
A valve broke during the recent cold weather and has been leaking, according to Dwain Benton, Water Resources Collection and Distribution Superintendent.
"If the repair proceeds without any problems, water service should be restored by the afternoon," Benton said.
