ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A woman in Rowan County is in trouble after police said she tattooed her 12-year-old daughter.
A report filed with the Rowan County Sheriff's Office said someone tipped them off then called the Department of Social Services about Anna Yates.
The report said the tattoo is on the girl's upper right arm. It didn't say what the tattoo shows.
Police charged Yates with tattooing a person under 18 -- North Carolina law bans anyone under the age of 18 from getting a tattoo.
Yates is due in court at the end of the month.
