CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a woman accused of shooting a man in the chest at a party over the weekend in east Charlotte.

Chynna Taylor will appear in court Wednesday, charged with larceny and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Police said she shot William Helms during a party Sunday morning at the Heatherwood Trace Apartments on Paces Glen Avenue
Witnesses told Channel 9 that Helms noticed his wallet was missing and confronted Taylor. That's when police said she shot Helms in the chest.
Helms survived and is recovering.
