Updated:CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The woman who police say has been renting out homes she does not own, is now in custody.
Mele Tonga was set to appear in court Thursday after police say she rented out several foreclosed homes and told people she was a real estate agent.
She is facing three felony charges for obtaining property by false pretense.
Channel 9 first uncovered the case against Tonga in November.
