UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A 26-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Union County, troopers said.
Troopers said Raven Ashley Phifer of Marshville was going about 75 mph on Landsford Road when she hit a curve and lost control.
Phifer's car hit a tree, causing the tree to fall over on the road.
Troopers said she wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
They said the crash happened about a mile from her home. Phifer had just celebrated her 26th birthday on Monday.
