The tree came crashing down around 3 a.m. along Remington Street, near Beatties Ford Road and landed on the house.
Channel 9 could see where the tree slammed into the back of the house, scattering debris across the yard.
Emergency officials told Channel 9 that a woman was inside at the time but she escaped unharmed.
Rain was coming down when the tree fell, but officials are still not certain if that played a role.
The American Red Cross was called out to help the family find a place to stay.
