CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police were investigating after a woman was shot in north Charlotte early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to Smallwood Drive, off West Trade Street near Johnson C. Smith University just before 9 a.m. and found the woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Paramedics took her to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Details surrounding the shooting have not been released and police have not said anything about a possible suspect yet.
