CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two teens are accused of robbing a woman in east Charlotte around 10 p.m. at 5100 Central Avenue.
Police said a 44-year-old woman got off a bus at the same time as a group of five teenagers.
The teenagers robbed her at knifepoint, police said.
Police later questioned a 13-year-old and 15-year-old, but they were released.
The woman was not hurt.
Shakira Thomas takes the CATS bus on Central Avenue every week.
“It's kind of crazy to know that things like that are happening out here,” Thomas said.
The robbers stole her purse, cellphone and cash.
There have been 73 crimes including assaults, robberies and other violent incidents within a quarter-mile of the area since mid-February.
