CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have charged a man in connection to the murder of a woman in west Charlotte.
According to officials, officers responded to a call Friday night and found a woman suffering with an apparent gunshot wound off Nobles Avenue.
Alexia Mayfield, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Officials charged Immanuel Felton, 25, for Mayfield's murder after interviewing him Saturday at police headquarters.
Felton remains in custody at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
