CLOVER, S.C. - York County investigators are trying to decide whether to press charges against a man they said shot his brother early Thursday.
Police said the 22-year-old man called 911 just after 1 a.m. to report the shooting. Deputies later found the younger brother, Shaye Fenske, shot to death in his home on Highway 557 in Clover.
Eyewitness News found earlier incident reports from York County's Sheriff's Office that showed the brothers at times violently lashed out at each other.
A report from 2010 stated that Shaye, his brother and another man got into a fight over a chipped guitar and at one point, "Shaye lifted a gun and pointed it at his brother." It stated he fired "a round into the ceiling."
However, many neighbors said they were shocked by the latest incident.
"They would work outside with their daddy on cars and this and that and … oh God," said neighbor Marlene Elliotte.
Investigators said they could make a decision about charges late Thursday.
