CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Controversial plans to build a Walgreens in Dilworth won a battle Wednesday night.
The Charlotte zoning committee approved the plans to build the drug store at East Morehead Street and Kenilworth Avenue.
Neighbors have spoken against the construction since June, saying it will hurt Dilworth’s historic character.
The proposed plans will go before City Council for a vote.
