WATCH: Meteorologist John Ahrens sings national anthem at Knights game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - WSOC-TV meteorologist John Ahrens performed the national anthem Wednesday evening at the Charlotte Knights game at BB&T Stadium.

Ahrens opened up the Knights game vs. the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Three-time American League All-Star Luis Tiant threw out a ceremonial first pitch, met fans and signed autographs at BB&T Ballpark.

Ahrens, who is an avid singer and Frank Sinatra fan, previously sang the anthem at a Knights game in July of 2015.

Ahrens has also sung the anthem at a North Carolina fire safety conference and at a Myers Park High School baseball game.
