Freezing rain possible Friday morning

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte area is between weather systems as skies clear out and temperatures will fall to about 30 degrees Wednesday night.

The break from the weather won't last long with clouds gathering quickly, especially after lunch.

Rain will push from south to north toward the evening drive.

The tricky time period is after midnight Thursday into Friday. As the temperatures drop to the lower 30s, some freezing rain is a decent bet, especially north of Charlotte.

North of Interstate 40 into the mountains could see more freezing rain.

The weekend looks great, sunshine will return and temperatures will climb well into the 60s.
