GATLINBURG, Tenn. — A bear tried to beat the summer heat by jumping into a backyard pool Saturday afternoon.
Christelle Riberio's three children were playing in the pool at Chrisine Whaley's when they first saw the bear approach, according to WATE.
"I guess he was hot," Riberio told WATE. "I was excited and I was really happy because I wanted my kids to see one from up close."
The Whaleys said bear sightings are more frequent than usual, about three times a week this year.
