CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte leaders discussed a plan Monday night to add protections for the city's LGBT population.
The ordinance would ban discrimination in places like businesses, taxis and public bathrooms. The city rejected a similar ordinance last year.
The council voted 7 to 3 to put LGBT non-discrimination ordinance on the Feb. 22 agenda.
Meanwhile, some Charlotte business and religious leaders urged the city to reject it again.
