ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. —
The accident happened on Highway 90 near the town of Hiddenite. The driver of a pickup truck said he was blinded by the sun and rear-ended a car, knocking it into the path of another vehicle.
Firefighters said the two people airlifted had life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not said whether anyone will face charges.
