DILWORTH, N.C. —
Investigators are trying to piece together what started a fire at a business in a Dilworth neighborhood.
The fire ignited just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Boulevard.
The business is owned by Total Protections. They have been in the building for less than a month.
The previous occupant was Allen Tate.
Bet Britt, Executive Vice President of Total Loss, said the 13 employees that work at the office will not be adversely affected by the fire.
The will be able to work remotely using their laptops.
Fire crews battled the flames until about 6 a.m. The scene is now clear.
Two other buildings next to that business were damaged by the fire.
At one point, police shut down a section of East Boulevard between Lennox and Winthrop avenues.
That area is now reopened to drivers. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Fire officials said the business was a total loss.
