Animal Mutilations Have Sheriff Concerned

ANSON CO., N.C. —

Investigators in Anson County think they may have a case of devil worship on their hands.

The groundskeeper at the Garris Grove Church cemetery outside Wadesboro found five dead animals on Saturday. They included a decapitated goat and a sheep with its throat slashed. .Blood was splashed on gravestones, and all the animals had their feet tied with orange string.

The sheriff calls it one of the most disturbing cases he's ever dealt with, and says even if it's not devil worship, it's still one of the most bizarre things he's ever seen.

The sheriff believes a group of people did it; he's asking people in the area to check whether they're missing livestock.
