Argument Leads To Crash Inside Charlotte Sports Bar

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A man is recovering, and a woman is facing charges after witnesses say she purposely crashed her car into a Charlotte sports bar. It happened just after 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Bailey's Sports Bar & Grille on Pineville-Matthews Road.

According to witnesses, a man and a woman were playing in a poker tournament in the bar and started arguing. Both of them went outside, and the woman got into her car. When the man tried to go back inside, police say the woman backed the car past him and into the bar. The man was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises. An off duty paramedic playing in that poker tournament helped him until other medics arrived.

The names of the people involved haven't been released. Police say they do plan to charge the woman with felony hit-and-run and driving while impaired.
