Deputies say the man's daughter arrived at the Banoak Elementary School and told teachers that her father was holding a gun on his mother.

Deputies say the school was placed on lockdown because it was in close proximity to the residence.

They say Claude Wilkinson Jr. made several threats toward deputies and had weapons inside his home.

Deputies were able to get Wilkinson and his wife out of the house safely.

Wilkinson is in custody at the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
