Authorities Work To Identify Body Found Outside Morganton Apartment

Police in Morganton are investigating after woman's body was found decomposing outside an apartment.

Authorities found the body on West Union Street late Saturday afternoon.

Public safety officers say Christopher Lambert has been charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators say Lambert called them and said he killed someone.

Authorities say the body had been there for several days.

The body was taken to Chapel Hill for an autopsy.

Investigators say they may have to use dental records in order to identify the woman.
