Bank Robbery Fugitive Arrested In Charlotte

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The U.S. Marshals arrested an accused bank robber in Charlotte Friday.

Police said Gregory Wagner, 54, robbed a bank in Pennsylvania back in December 2008.

According to a press release, the Pocono Mountain Regional Police department responded to a robbery that had taken place at a Citizen’s Bank in Monroe County, Pa.

Investigators said Wagner entered the bank and sprayed lighter fluid on the bank counter as well as the area near and around the bank teller. Wagner allegedly threatened to ignite the fluid as he demanded money.

Wagner fled the scene after the teller complied with his demands.

Wagner has been charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and recklessly endangering of another person.

Wagner was being held in Mecklenburg County Jail while waiting to be extradited.
