Boy Recovering From Snake Bite In Charlotte Hospital

Mecklenburg County —

Kenny Taylor was walking through Belle Johnston Park in Pineville Monday when a copperhead snake slithered onto his friend's shoe. His friend kicked the snake into a bush. When the two walked by the bush again, the snake popped out, biting Taylor. "He pulled his head out and his fangs got into the back of my hand. I flung him off and jumped on him and crushed his jaw. I think some of the venom came out," Taylor told us. We asked him to explain the pain he felt. "It [felt] like my arm was broken. When you get bit, it starts burning."

After medics rushed Kenny to the hospital, his friend's father went back and got the dead snake so doctors would know what anti-venom Kenny needed.
