Burke School Board Likely To Hire New Superintendent

MORGANTON, N.C. —

The Burke County Board of Education will likely name its new superintendent Tuesday.

The group is holding a special meeting at 6 p.m. at Patton High School. Board Chair Tracy Norman told Eyewitness News’ newspaper partner, the Morganton News Herald, that she expects the board will vote on hiring a new superintendent.

Last week, the board held final interviews with three candidates.

The board came under fire earlier this year for letting popular superintendent David Burleson go before his contract expired.
