Busy Road Shut Down For Construction

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Police and utility crews shut down Rozzelles Ferry Road early Sunday morning, after a water main break was discovered. There was concern the road could buckle, and cause a sinkhole.

Railroad crews with CSX were working on a repaving project at a nearby crossing. After seeing the road closed, they decided to do their work in that area as well.

Water main and road repairs are expected to take another 2-3 days. Work on the railroad crossing is expected to take about three days.
