Car Sale Turns Into Violent Robbery

CONCORD, N.C. —

A Concord man looking for a deal on the Internet ended up being the victim of a violent robbery.

The 19-year-old didn't want to be identified but said he was looking to buy a Ford Crown Victoria on the Web site craigslist.org.

A seller told him to meet up in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Griers Grove Road on Saturday night. He said the seller brought the car, but also a gun.

"I pulled out the money, and before I can do anything, he goes down in his car, comes back, cocks the pistol and he said 'give it up,'" the 19-year-old said.

The victim said he and his father initially fought back, but the gunman and an accomplice got away with the money.

The men were not able to get good descriptions of the suspects. Police said they drove off in a white 1986 Ford Crown Victoria.
