Chaos Erupts As Murder Trial Ends

LENOIR, N.C. —

Chaos erupted in a Lenoir courtroom Tuesday when a jury delivered a guilty verdict in the first-degree murder trial of Rashad Jordan.

The jury began deliberating at 3:30 p.m.

Jordan, 23, faced first-degree murder charges in the 2007 death of Cedric Harshaw.

Jordan apologized on camera for the crime shortly after his arrest two years ago.

Police said he shot Harshaw with an assault rifle several times outside the home where they were staying.

Investigators did not release a motive for the shooting.
