CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Drivers we talked with worry its price gouging. But they say they have to pay it.
Linda Lesniewski said, “I live in Wilmington and I have to get home tonight. So, I don’t have any choice.”
Brandon Aaron said the high price made him change his weekend plans. He said, “My friends, we were going to go somewhere today, and I was like you know what – we’re just gonna cancel that because gas prices are way too high.”
Eyewitness News talked with the owner about why the price was so high. He told us he paid $5.31 a gallon from the supplier.
The small mark-up he says is for extra fees from credit card companies.
While we were there Saturday afternoon, the Exxon station across the street got a new tanker of fuel. On The Run is charging $3.88 a gallon.
Workers expected to be out of gas by the end of the night.
