Charlotte Church Holds Vigil For Oil Spill

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A south Charlotte church held a prayer vigil Thursday night for the victims of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

St. John’s Episcopal Church hosted the vigil.

Members prayed for an end to the oil leak and for all people to take better care of the environment. Parishioners said they hope others across the nation will pray, as well.

The oil well exploded two months ago in the Gulf of Mexico, killing 11 workers and causing massive environmental and economic damage.

Two months after the explosion, BP hasn’t been able to stop the leak.
