CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A 10-year-old boy was hurt when he was hit by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer's car Thursday, police said.

Officers said Hasaun Raheem Andrews and his 13-year-old brother were running across South Tryon Street near Thornfield Road around 7 p.m. when the accident happened.

Officers said the boys were on the sidewalk but then ran into the road. The 13-year-old made it across the road, but the 10-year-old was struck by the officer's car.
