CMPD Significant Event Log For Feb. 8/9

Feb. 8 12:26 p.m. Rape/Sexual Assault in North Tryon Division: Victim advised that a known acquaintance broke into her residence at 900 Highland Mist Lane, held her at knifepoint, and assaulted her. Officers and K9 are conducting a search and canvassing the neighborhood. NFI

Feb. 8 2:50 p.m. Accident-Personal Injury in Providence Division: Two lanes of outbound Independence Boulevard just past Briar Creek Road are going to be shut down likely through rush hour due a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported to CMC with serious injuries. The CMPD HITS Unit is on scene conducting the investigation.

Feb. 8 11:25 p.m. Rape/Sexual Assault in Metro Division: The victim accepted a ride from an acquaintance who attempted to force himself upon her at 800 Norwood Dr. The suspect was unsuccessful in his attempt, and left. No injury.
