CMPD Significant Event Log For July 1/2

July 1 1:44 p.m. Death Investigation at 500 Fairwood Avenue in Westover Division. A 53 year male victim was found deceased; appears natural at this time.

July 1 6:03 p.m. Robbery from Business - Armed at 37100 Central Ave in Eastway Division. Officers responded to a hold-up alarm at 3718 Central Ave. Officer arrived to find the employees bound with garbage bags. Two hispanic suspects, armed with a silver handgun, tied up the employees and robbed the business. They fled in a white chevy silverado. Store surveillance equipment not functional. Officers were working on checking DOT cameras nearby. Robbery detectives notified, and CSS responded.

July 1 10:03 p.m. Robbery from Person - Strong Arm at 4900 E. Independence Blvd in Independence Division. The victim was walking behind the listed address when 3 black males subjects approached him, physically assaulted him, and took his MP3 player. The suspects fled on foot.

July 1 11:50 p.m. Robbery from Person - Armed at 36200 Griffith St in Westover Division. The victim advised that 2 black males, dressed in all black and armed with a handgun, entered the apartment and robbed him of his wallet and cell phone.

July 2 12:44 a.m. Rape/Sexual Assault at 4400 Tuckaseegee Rd in Freedom Division. The victim advised that she was sexually assaulted by a former boyfriend.
