CMS Reschedules Football Games, More Rain Ahead

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has rescheduled all high school football games set for Friday night because of the rainy weather.

All the games will be played Monday evening at 7 p.m. at their previously scheduled locations. The North Mecklenburg High School versus J.M. Robinson High School game in Concord will also be played Monday at 7 p.m.

CMS officials said the field conditions and the heavy rains forecasted for Friday evening contributed to the decision to postpone the games.

Severe Weather Center 9 Meteorologist Tracey Lewis said showers will continue to push across the Carolinas until late tonight. The rains could be heavy at times with thunder possibly developing.

Lewis said the rains should be out of the way early Saturday, making way for a beautiful weekend.
